The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision released the final text of its reforms to strengthen global capital and liquidity rules in order to create a more resilient banking industry. Additional guidance remains to be provided with respect to systemically important financial institutions, however, the Basel III Framework will have a far-reaching impact on the banking system. It is intended to improve the banking sectors ability to absorb shocks arising from financial and economic stress, thereby reducing the risk of spillover from the financial sector to the real economy.
This webcast will examine the Basel III Framework and its components to make clear what you should be concerned about and prepared for, including:
Composition of Capital
Add-ons to Capital Requirements
Buffers: The Capital Conservation Buffer and the Countercyclical Buffer
Enhancing Risk Coverage
Global Liquidity Standards
