Description: The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 (the "Act") is one of the most significant and sweeping financial regulatory reforms since the Great Depression. Through Title VII of the Act, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) now have broad authority to regulate derivative transactions as well as market participants. Two interactive panels comprised of industry leading attorneys will discuss Title VII in the context of current federal agency rule making. A separate presentation will address the issues faced by municipal entities under the Act. Any attorney that has or expects to have clients engaging in financial derivatives will benefit from this program.
