Description: This webcast will provide in-house lawyers an overview of commercial legal finance, a tool increasingly used by Fortune 500 in-house lawyers to offset costs and to accelerate recoveries for major commercial litigations and arbitrations. The webcast, to be led by investment team members at the world’s largest provider of commercial legal finance, will cover both legal finance’s use and key ethical considerations.
The first half of the webcast will provide an overview of the key benefits of legal finance; products such as monetization financing, fees and expenses financing, and portfolio financing; the process for securing funding; common deal structures and pricing; and case studies.
The second half of the webcast will address ethical considerations including the now obsolete common law doctrine of champerty; work product protection; privilege; control; fee sharing; confidentiality; and disclosure.
This program is not for legal ethics credit.
