Description: This podcast episode brings together Brian Ellis, a Financial Institutions Litigator with Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C., with his lifelong friend and former college roommate, Jamie McGill, who is a Certified Financial Planner and Financial Advisor at Christopher Street Financial, a RIA that is focused on the financial planning and investment advisory needs of the LGBTQ+ and progressive communities. Brian and Jamie will reminisce on their friendship prior to and after Jamie’s coming out, and will address the evolving legal landscape facing the LGBTQ+ community. Fred Schoenbrodt, Bressler’s Trusts & Estates Practice Area Leader, will also join Brian and Jamie to discuss personal, financial, and estate planning, and will review important considerations for LGBTQ+ individuals and families.
 
Jamie McGill, CFP® (pronouns he/him/his), is a Financial Advisor at Christopher Street Financial, a RIA that is focused on the financial planning and investment advisory needs of the LGBTQ and progressive communities.  Prior to joining the firm, Jamie held various roles in banking and financial services.  As a Certified Financial Planner™, he partners with tax, legal, and trust professionals to coordinate and customize planning to the unique needs of a highly diverse client base.     
 
Brian Ellis, Esq. is a litigator, counselor at law, and Principal at Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C.  With significant experience before courts, administrative agencies, arbitration panels, and mediators, Brian represents financial services firms and associated persons in connection with regulatory concerns, retail and intra-industry disputes, and state and federal litigation matters.  Brian also advises individuals and businesses concerning risk assessment, cyber-security initiatives, and data privacy considerations. 
 
Frederick K. Schoenbrodt II, Esq. leads the Private Client practice at Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C., and represents clients in all trusts and estates matters.  Fred is the current author of New Jersey Estate Planning, Will Drafting and Estate Administration Forms, published by LexisNexis and updated annually.  In addition to his law degree, Fred holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. Before entering private practice, he served as an Army judge advocate with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.
