Description: Please join the Electricity Regulation Committee of the Energy Bar Association for this informative educational program that will focus on the basics of developing and administering filings under Sections 205 and 206 of the Federal Power Act and highlight insights and practical tips for practitioners involved in these proceedings.

The discussion will begin by addressing topics associated with the threshold question of “what is a Section 205/206 filing?” The panelists will then discuss the role of individuals in such developing filings (e.g., expert witnesses, counsel, etc.) as well as the roles that various parties play (e.g., FERC-jurisdictional entities, market operators filing on behalf of non-jurisdictional entities, intervenors, complainants, etc.). The discussion will conclude with a walk-through of the FERC administrative process.

Attendees will leave this informative session with a better understanding of burden of proof, components of a cost-of-service study and other essential pieces of evidence, motions practice, FERC hearing and settlement process, as well as a number of practical considerations and tips.
