Steven C. Bennett is a partner at Jones Day in New York City. His practice focuses on domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration, including cases involving bankruptcy, construction, corporate, energy, insurance, intellectual property, privacy and data security, and other disputes. Mr. Bennett is chair of the firm's e-Discovery Committee and an active member of the firm's construction practice team. He co-founded the Sedona Conference Working Group on International E-Discovery. He teaches a course on conflicts of law at Hofstra Law School and co-teaches a course on advanced civil procedure (e-discovery) at New York Law School. Mr. Bennett is a qualified arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the CPR Institute. He serves as hearing officer pursuant to the consent decree in the Civil RICO case of United States v. Local 14-14B, IUOE (E.D.N.Y.) and served two terms as election officer in the case of United States v. District Council of Carpenters (S.D.N.Y.). He taught arbitration law at Brooklyn Law School for nine years.
 
Denise E. Backhouse is of counsel in Morgan Lewis’s eData Practice. Ms. Backhouse counsels and defends clients primarily in the areas of financial industry regulatory matters and litigation as well as domestic and international business and corporate disputes. Her responsibilities include advising on and conducting all phases of information governance and discovery. She has engaged in eDiscovery motion practice in multiple jurisdictions and has worked on discovery responses to the SEC, FINRA, DOJ, FTC, and state attorneys general. Ms. Backhouse is a member of The Sedona Conference international and eDiscovery working groups and a contributing editor to the Primer on Social Media. She is a contributing author to Getting the Deal Through — Labour and Employment, an annual series of deskbooks that provide international analysis in key areas of employment law and policy for corporate counsel, cross-border legal practitioners, and global team leaders. She is a member of the IAPP (CIPP/E). Ms. Backhouse received her J.D. from Columbia University Law School, and a master’s degree in late medieval history; and a B.A., with first-class honors, both from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
 
Kenneth N. Rashbaum of Rashbaum and Associates LLC is a litigator, trial lawyer and counselor. He has been the trusted advisor to multiple health care providers, health plans and multinational corporations on information governance and its compliance with federal, state, and international law, and the interface of electronic information of legal and regulatory liabilities. He has served as partner and Co-Chair of the E-Discovery, Compliance and Data Management Practice Group of AmLaw 100 law firm Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, LLP, and founded the Firm’s HIPAA Practice Group. Ken has vast experience counseling multinational corporations on data protection and privacy laws and regulations in Europe, Asia, Canada, and South America. In his capacity as a nationally known expert on data privacy, he counsels health care providers on compliance with federal, state and judicial standards governing protected health information preservation, use and disclosure.
