Description: It has been about a year since the Securities and Exchange Commission released its “Rules on Cybersecurity Risk Management, Strategy, Governance, and Incident Disclosure on Public Companies” in June of 2023. The rules put in place a set of disclosure requirements that companies must abide by after experiencing a cyber incident. These requirements come at a time where cybersecurity breaches are not an ‘if’ but a ‘when.’ The cost of a data breach only continues to grow, and recent cases demonstrate that executives will be held liable, meaning companies must adhere to a certain standard for their disclosure practices. It is important for lawyers to understand the SEC requirements and be able to help companies implement best practices. This webinar serves as a guide for attorneys supporting corporate clients in mitigating cyber regulatory risk and executive liability.
