Description: VALUATION 2021 Series
Episode #1: What's it Worth? Valuing a Business for Sale
February 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM CST

Before going to market to sell your business, you or your executive team may want to obtain an independent appraisal. Likewise, prospective buyers may wish to obtain expert services to value an acquisition target or discrete portions of a target. This webinar provides a look into how valuation experts place a value on a going concern.

As with every Financial Poise Webinar, each episode is delivered in Plain English so that you do not have to be an Intellectual Property Law Specialist to understand and benefit from them.  And, as with every Financial Poise Webinar, each episode brings you into engaging, sometimes humorous, conversations designed to entertain as it teaches. Each episode in the series is designed to be viewed independently of the other episodes so that participants will enhance their knowledge of this area whether they attend one, some, or all episodes.

Panelist #1:
Brian Laliberte, Founder, Managing Director, Oak Moon Consulting
I am a big strategic thinker with a passion for helping leadership teams and businesses accelerate and sustain their growth and maximize their purpose.

I love to learn. I pick up and absorb information quickly and continuously challenge myself to learn more, which keeps me on the cutting edge. My natural curiosity drives me to seek out complex business problems to solve. I am energized by learning and applying my knowledge and experience to help others.

As an advisor to the companies we support, I strive to be innovative, inventive, original, and resourceful in my thinking. I have a bias for action, but take the time necessary to assess a problem. I leverage my ability to learn and think critically at a fast pace to create solutions to expected and unexpected challenges. I use the same approach to take advantage of promising opportunities.

I take the world as it is and am practical and realistic in my approach to creating solutions to complex problems. But, I am constantly inspired by the future and what it could be. I love to think about what we can accomplish as we continue to create, innovate, and transform society through the responsible application of technology. I want to remove impediments that prevent or delay value-creating ideas from coming to life.

Prior to founding Oak Moon Consulting, I practiced law for 20 years as a trial lawyer and litigator. I solved problems for clients in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous circumstances that affected their lives and livelihood and the economic security of their companies, employees, and shareholders.

I was privileged to attend the University of Michigan (BA 1996),  Case Western Reserve University School of Law (JD 1999), and The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business (MBA 2020).
