Description: Presenter Bio:
 
BRADFORD P. MEISEL is an Associate in the Firm’s Transactional Group. He received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was Vice President of the Legislative Law Society and Treasurer of the Georgetown Art Law Society, and his Bachelor of Arts in History from Dickinson College.
 
While at Georgetown University Law Center, Bradford served as a Senate Judiciary Committee Law Fellow to U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island during the confirmation of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil M. Gorsuch and Cybersecurity and Technology Law Clerk to U.S. Senator Gary Peters of Michigan and analyzed legislation regarding cybersecurity and data security in the financial services sector, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), and Section 230 immunity for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in addition to assisting with investigative hearings regarding cybersecurity. Bradford also served as a legal intern in the United States Department of Justice, Criminal Division Public Integrity Section (PIN) and Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys (EOUSA).
 
Before entering law school, Bradford worked as a research analyst for a real estate development firm in New Jersey and served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Dennis M. Cavanaugh, U.S.D.J. in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Honorable Brian R. Martinotti, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division in Bergen County.
 
Prior to joining the Firm, Bradford served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Diane Pincus, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Division in Middlesex County.
 
DIANE D. REYNOLDS has an extensive background in the representation of private and publicly-held entities in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, compliance, corporate governance, and strategic growth initiatives. She has also served as General Counsel to technology, financial services and consumer products companies and has extensive experience representing companies and investors in change-of-control transactions. Diane also possesses a unique depth of experience in privacy/data security combined with strong technology experience, due to her lengthy involvement in the technology sector.
 
Diane has served as advisor to, and as a director of, several public and privately-held companies.
 
JOYCE E. BOYLE is a graduate of Rutgers University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a graduate of Seton Hall School of Law.  Ms. Boyle has extensive experience representing insurance carriers, including London Market companies, in complex coverage and defense matters.  Ms. Boyle has handled numerous defense and coverage involving general liability insurance, products-completed operations insurance, umbrella/excess insurance, first and third party property insurance, environmental claims insurance, employment practices liability insurance, professional liability insurance, London Market policies, captive insurance and commercial automobile insurance.  Ms. Boyle has also represented insurers in state and federal courts in complex declaratory judgment actions.  She also has experience counseling and representing insurers in complex claims involving “personal and advertising injury” coverage under primary and umbrella/excess insurance policies, including coverage claims involving defamation, disparagement, invasion of privacy, constitutional claims and false advertising.  Additionally, Ms. Boyle has developed claims manuals for her clients and provided counsel on policy wording issues.  In addition to insurance litigation, Ms. Boyle represents clients in the following areas: product liability, commercial, environmental, and construction defect.
 
Ms. Boyle is published in Michigan State University's Journal of Medicine and Law, "To Pay or Not to Pay, That Is The Question: Finding An Intermediary Solution Along the Moore Spectrum."
 
Ms. Boyle is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, the State of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. 
 
Ms. Boyle is a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association and the Women’s Association for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.  Prior to attending law school, Ms. Boyle worked at Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation for approximately ten years where she developed and implemented national and international film release marketing campaigns, and organized large scale events and premieres.
 
Program Description:
 
Sophisticated cyberattacks that have jeopardized billions of dollars worth of economic value creation and rapidly evolving cybersecurity and information privacy laws creating significant exposure for businesses in countless sectors have made cyber insurance a necessity for many if not most businesses. This program will explain the emerging legal landscape regarding cyber insurance coverage including pending litigation regarding whether cyberattacks linked to foreign governments are subject to policies' "act of war" exceptions, legal exposure for cyberattack victims under newly enacted data security and privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and European Union General Data Protection Act (GDPR), and the tort law implications of cyberattacks. This program will also outline the steps businesses can take to proactively assess, remediate, and guard against cybersecurity risks and protect themselves with cyber insurance as well as the steps insurers can take to minimize their insureds' cyber risk and ensure compliance with data privacy and security laws.
