This session will focus on practical aspects of data breach response, including variations in laws that can trip up even experienced counsel, regulator expectations, investigatory pitfalls, and engaging law enforcement.
The purpose of the session would be to empower inside counsel to take a successful leading role in managing the legal aspects of breach as well as aiding colleagues in data security and compliance to avoid mistakes that can cause legal headaches. The session will NOT reiterate the contents of statutory language but rather focus on practical elements of the response process from a legal perspective.
