Description: Consider for a moment, a breach of cyber security in the power sector. Lights, computers, financial records, medical equipment, refrigeration and many other things could be wiped out or disabled in an instant. The ensuing chaos that would follow could be apocalyptic. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) mandate is to oversee the reliability and security of the nation's power grid. Under FERC's certification, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) developed Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) cyber security reliability standards. Join us for an EBA Energizer on FERC-Led Audits of Critical Infrastructure Projects Cybersecurity Reliability Standards on December 7, 2016, 12:00pm to 1:30pm that examines what regulators are doing to reduce the vulnerability of the grid to attacks and loss of service.

This program is presented by the EBA's System Reliability, Planning, and Security Committee and Compliance and Enforcement Committees.
