The Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission case in 2010 dramatically changed the landscape for campaign finance across the country. But that’s merely one case amongst earlier and more recent cases. This session will help legislators make sense of court decisions that affect state laws on contribution limits and disclosure requirements—with a focus on where independent expenditures fit in the picture.
