The seminar will briefly review the regulation of pharmacy compounding leading up to the New England Compounding Center disaster and the state and federal responses to it. Topics covered will include office use compounding, state pharmacy laws adopting USP 797 and selected USP 797 issues, increased enforcement by state pharmacy boards of USP 797 standards, and the federal Drug Quality and Security Act.
