Managing a small business or individual chapter 11 case requires careful planning, coordination, and execution. This panel will provide a step-by-step overview of the path to successfully coordinate a small business/individual chapter 11 case. Starting with the first meeting with the client, the panelists will follow the client through meetings with the financial advisor, to preparation and presentation of first-day motions (including the motion for cash collateral), to the initial debtor interview with the U.S. Trustee, and on to confirmation of the plan. In addition, the panelists will offer best practices toward satisfying the judges inevitable questions and meeting the U.S. Trustees expectations.
After this seminar, attendees will know how to plan and prepare for a chapter 11 case, when to contact a financial advisor for assistance, what questions the judge will ask, and what expectations the U.S. Trustee will have.
Specific Topics:
I. Client Interview & Preparing for the Chapter 11
II. First Day Pleadings and U.S. Trustee Meeting
III. Chapter 11 Plan and Exit Strategies
