Most business acquisitions are complex and intensely negotiated transactions. Many players may be involved with differing agendas and objectives. This program will guide lawyers through the deal process from the initial meeting with the client to the negotiation and drafting of terms for the agreements in order to implement the transaction. It will include a section on structuring of the deal, both tax and non-tax considerations.
For Canadian attorneys, there are also 30 minutes of accredited CPD Professional Responsibility/Ethics/Practice Management Content including how to determine who the client is, possible conflicts and understanding the clients objectives and risk tolerance.
