The explosion of the amount and type of mobile devices, increased network access and the rapid proliferation and acceptance of social media has caused the line between workday and private time to become blurred. No longer does the average employee leave work at the office in the evening and home at the front door in the morning. In this new digital age employees might be handling "work" matters on their personal time and from their own personal devices; they may be posting content to personal sites (e.g. Facebook) about their employers; or they may be posting personal content to accounts normally tied to work matters (e.g. Twitter). Where is the line between these two worlds do we need one and can we draw one?
In this webinar, we will discuss:
- Compliance and legal issues that may be triggered by the "run-off" between the work day and employee off-hours;
- Practical strategies that companies can employ to protect against the fall-out from these issues; and
- What the future may hold for additional concerns and conflicts in this rapidly-changing area.
