Description: Montgomery McCracken's Class Action Defense practice presents "Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) Update: The Year in Review and Trends for 2015."
The TCPA restricts telephone solicitations (i.e., telemarketing) and the use of automated telephone equipment. The TCPA limits the use of automatic dialing systems, artificial or prerecorded voice messages, SMS text messages, and fax machines. Violations of the TCPA can cost companies millions of dollars. Hundreds of class action lawsuits have been brought. Settlements across a variety of industries have caused companies to beef up compliance. The webinar will review updates and cases from the past year as well as what to expect in the year ahead.
