There have been a number of enforcement actions in Massachusetts in recent years. These incidents and the resulting settlements provide insight into current state and federal enforcement objectives, how to prevent breaches, and the best ways to handle breaches when they do occur. Regulators from the Office of Civil Rights and the Office of the Attorney General will join a panel of health care attorneys who have experience representing health care entities in the face of a privacy breach. The panel will provide an update concerning regulatory activity in Massachusetts and New England and will share lessons learned.
