Talcott J. Franklin offers a free white paper and webcast on West LegalEdcenter
EAGAN, Minn., Apr. 30, 2009 The Helping Families Save Their Homes Act (H.R. 1106) has been passed by the U.S. House of Representatives and is now under consideration in the U.S. Senate. It is aimed at preventing mortgage foreclosures and enhancing mortgage credit availability.
The bill also is the subject of a white paper and webcast from securitization litigation expert Talcott J. Franklin, co-author of two noted legal treatises on securitization from West.
This is their retirement talking so people should try to get informed, says Franklin. The mortgage-backed securities affected by this bill are held by pension funds, 401k investments, life insurance policies, endowments, college funds, and other managed investments.
Franklins white paper, Mortgage Servicer Safe Harbor: A Legal and Policy Analysis, is available on www.westlegaledcenter.com. Franklin also leads a discussion about H.R. 1106 in a free on-demand webcast.
Franklin is the co-author of the recently-published Emergency Economic Stabilization Act Handbook and Mortgage and Asset Backed Securities Litigation Handbook , both from West, part of Thomson Reuters. Franklin is a partner and head of litigation in the Dallas office of Patton Boggs LLP.
