Description: This recorded CLE webinar provides a review of cyber law, which is rapidly evolving on a domestic and international level. Panelists discuss the United States' approach to cybersecurity, including the Department of Defense's cyber strategy and Congressional bills awaiting approval. Furthermore, panelists review the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, released in March 2020, that advocates for a new strategic approach to cybersecurity: layered cyber deterrence.
The webinar discusses the approach to cyber law on an international scale, including its dependence on the United Nations Charter, the Tallinn Manual, and states’ approach to sovereignty. Proper attribution in the aftermath of cyber attacks has been a growing issue as states experience attacks from non-state actors and other third-party groups.
Topics covered in this webinar:
1. US Agencies’ Perspective on Cybersecurity
2. International Law in Cyberspace
3. Cyber Attack Attribution
