Description:

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in Arizona v. United States, what is the status of non-citizens in this country?  How will enforcement play out in a second Obama administration?  Under a Romney presidency?

Join experts Daniel Kanstroom of BC Law and Shannon Erwin of MIRA for their insights and predictions.

This brown bag will look at how the Arizona case and others affect the landscape of federal enforcement, the state of Secure Communities, and prosecutorial discretion in this arena.  We’ll also discuss issues of enforcement at the state and local levels, proposed and adopted legislation on Beacon Hill, and constitutional issues and challenges here in Massachusetts.
