Description: What's web3? What's crypto? What's blockchain? And how can these tools help you in real life as a lawyer, member of a legal department, developer, engineer, or consultant? This unique and informative presentation is NOT your typical program about cryptocurrency regulatory issues.

Join our five LexDAO guild members - Jared Cohen, Erich Dylus, Geoff Costeloe, James McCall, and Matt Blaine - as they provide a primer on these tools and explain how they work in life through enhanced and highly automated escrow tools, multisigs, and the management of real property - all on the blockchain.

LexDAO is building the next generation of smart contracts and organizational governance. It is an unincorporated nonprofit association under Wyo. Stat. Title 17, Ch. 22 of the laws of the State of Wyoming.

Geoff Costeloe practice focuses on estate and trust planning, tax planning, and estate administration.  I also specialize in the novel area of Digital Asset Planning, working with clients to ensure that Digital Assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, NFTs are securely held and properly aligned into an estate plan. This ensures that client’s estate plans can securely operate as intended and that they are aware of the often complex tax implications of their actions on digital blockchains.
In addition to working directly with clients, I also work with other lawyers, accountants, and wealth managers to educate them on the unique characteristics of Digital Assets that may differ from traditional assets. This helps wealth professionals ensure that they are not overlooking a variety of practical and technical issues dealing with Digital Assets that they may not be aware of.

James McCall is a licensed Idaho attorney with a dual major finance/accounting undergraduate degree.  James does not currently represent legal clients and has worked in commercial agriculture real estate finance for over a decade.   Experience includes directly originating and servicing a large agricultural commercial loan portfolio for various lending institutions to finance agricultural real estate.
