Description: This program will offer an overview of the latest legislative developments in Big Data, including a discussion of new regulations that model the California Consumer Privacy Act. Particular focus will be placed on the level of understanding businesses (and their lawyers) must have to comply with regulations and protect themselves in the event of misuse or improper commercialization of customer personal information. The program will walk the audience through a data security incident from pre-incident compliance to post-incident response and mitigation. Personal anecdotes and practical guidance will inform the discussion.
