Description: In today’s world, where the lines between home and work are blurred, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and stressed. For women attorneys, in particular, the overwhelm is magnified as boundaries have disappeared. The usual anxiety and stress surrounding the deadlines in the practice of law are now heightened by uncertainty and fear. As we near the end of a pandemic, the effects of the post-traumatic stress it is leaving in its wake are clear.

Join a candid conversation between a licensed mental health counselor, a life coach, and a female attorney as they discuss the mental health struggles women attorneys face having lived through a pandemic.

Learn:
1.the causes of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and burnout;
2.how to use stress management as a preventive measure for anxiety and depression;
3. when you can use self-help strategies and when you need to find professional help; and
4. where you can find treatment and the way forward.

Presenter Bios

Monica Amador, Esq., is a Partner at Amador & Cuellar, PL., and focuses her practice on consumer rights and litigation. She fights for people who have been victimized by the banking, credit, and collection companies, as well as the legal system.

Before opening the Firm, Ms. Amador practiced litigation with a boutique construction law firm in Miami, representing clients from large developers, contractors, and engineers to individuals. In 2008, with the nation facing economic hardship, Ms. Amador began working in the area of consumer law and foreclosure defense. Since that time, she has defended hundreds of foreclosure and debt defense cases with positive results and has dedicated her practice to defending the rights of consumers. Through her Firm she continues to serve and advocate for consumers who have been victimized and defrauded by the system. She also works closely with her community and local government to educate the public on consumer rights, student loan reform and social justice.

Ms. Amador was born and raised in Miami, is married and has two wonderful children. She was raised in a working-class West Miami neighborhood; her parents are Cuban immigrants, and she understands firsthand the hardships and realities that face hardworking families every day. She prides herself in filling an important role in the area of consumer law, by advocating for the underdog in an arena historically dominated by big business.
