Description: IP experts discuss current practices to reach a positive rate of return on investment and shorter time to money, developed in response recent changes in legislation, court decisions, administration, and “anti-patent” and “troll” public opinion.
In this webinar, Brian Pomper, Executive Director of The Innovation Alliance and Rob Stien, Vice President of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs for InterDigital, Inc (an IA member), will discuss the current patent landscape and its impact on innovator companies, particularly start-ups and emerging companies. They will address the proposed legislation that is being contemplated in Congress that will follow the America Invents Act, and recent decisions by the United States Supreme Court and the new Patent Office litigation process at the Patent Trial and Appeals Board. The impact of the current legal system on investment and research and development will be examined, and the uncertainty of the patent right in the current environment will be explored.
Caren Yusem, an expert on the new IP business landscape, and Robert Greene Sterne, editor-in-chief of Patent Office Litigation, co-moderate.
