Description: U.S. citizens living in Canada and Canadians with close ties to the U.S. must often navigate through complex Canadian and U.S. tax, trust and estate laws when undertaking their Will and trust planning. Differing tax and estate regimes on both sides of the border can make Will and trust planning a challenging exercise for Canadians with U.S. connections. However, practical and effective strategies may be available and can often be implemented to provide for tax-efficient results in both Canada and the U.S. This webinar will discuss the challenges commonly faced by tax and legal advisors when dealing with U.S. citizens living in Canada and Canadians with close ties to the U.S. The presentation will highlight the key issues that estate planners should consider when engaged in cross-border planning and suggest useful planning options for cross-border client matters.
