This program will lead attendees through the entire lifecycle of an asylum case beginning with the steps leading to the initial hearing in front of an Immigration Judge, to an appeal in front of the Board of Immigration Appeals, through an appeal at the First Circuit. This course is essential for attorneys who want to understand the law as it applies to seekers of asylum and who are new to representing asylum clients. This program will also provide current practitioners with a thorough review of the current law and standards of review.
Course materials will include sample pleadings as well as relevant articles and caselaw. The panel of practitioners experienced with asylum appeals will share their best practices in addition to providing topical instruction.
