While Lloyds of London is perhaps the most famous insurance market in the world, it may also be the least understood. This half-day program, presented by some of the top industry leaders in the London market, will provide an introduction to the Lloyds market structure, as well as an analysis of the process of placing a risk with Lloyds syndicates. The CLE will also provide an overview of Lloyds claims management process, including a discussion of the Lloyds Claims Transformation Programme.
The second half of the seminar will explore the complex issues that arise when disputes occur between Lloyds syndicates and their insureds. The program will also address the legal issues pertaining to conflicts among syndicates with respect to both primary and excess layers as well as with reinsurers. The panelists will review the anatomy of a coverage dispute from first tender through resolution with the reinsurer, as well as discuss the advantages of using alternative dispute resolution to manage these conflicts effectively and efficiently.
