EAGAN, Minn., Dec. 15, 2009 – West LegalEdcenter, a Thomson Reuters business, announced today that CLE Mobile is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store. Attorneys seeking continuing legal education (CLE) credit can for the first time find courses on their iPhone and iPod touch.

CLE Mobile allows users to listen to more than 2,000 CLE courses wherever they are and whenever it is most convenient. Audio CLE programs available for download to the CLE Mobile app are identified as “Mobile Compatible” on After purchasing available CLE content online through a free West LegalEdcenter account, courses become available for download to an iPhone or iPod touch through the CLE Mobile app. Users also have access to one free ethics CLE program when they download the app.

In addition to downloading and enjoying CLE content, CLE Mobile also allows users to submit completed courses for online state mandatory CLE credit. West LegalEdcenter has recreated its online experience. All of the regulatory safeguards that states require have been incorporated into the mobile environment. This allows users to earn credits as they would with an on-demand program at West LegalEdcenter, not just with a downloaded podcast for self-study credit. The app allows users to manage their profile, including licensing states and registration numbers.

CLE Mobile also gives law firms the ability to make their own CLE and training content mobile with West LegalEdcenter’s in-house training. This option allows law firms to better meet their attorneys’ needs by making their own programming even more flexible and accessible.

“Evolving technologies and mobile applications enable attorneys to office any time, any place, anywhere. West LegalEdcenter is setting the bar for mobile content delivery,” said Lee Ann Enquist, vice president, West Professional Development and head of West LegalEdcenter. “The new CLE Mobile app demonstrates our commitment to making professional education and development resources readily available to our customers whenever and wherever they want it. As attorney workflows change, West LegalEdcenter will continue to produce innovative solutions.”

West LegalEdcenter plans to make key content accessible on a variety of mobile devices, beginning with Apple. CLE Mobile is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at
