Description: There have been important developments regarding the “Waters of the U.S.” (WOTUS) Rule at the federal level and also local developments in the Wisconsin Legislature regarding Wisconsin water law since the first of this year.  This program will provide an overview of these developments and their potential impacts on water policy.  In addition to a discussion of the US EPA’s and US Army Corps’ recent stay of the WOTUS Rule for two years and recent federal court cases regarding the Rule, this program will also discuss federal, state and local regulatory jurisdiction over wetlands and also will include a brief summary of what is required by the US Army Corp’s wetland delineation manual for an area to be classified as a wetland.
