Shale gas and its development through hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") is rapidly changing the energy landscape in the United States, and its impacts on energy prices are felt here in Massachusetts.* The growth of the shale gas industry raises a number of issues and questions:  What do we know about its environmental impacts?  How do they compare with impacts from other energy sources? What is the current regulation of the industry? What should our   public policies on fracking be?

Please join us for a lively discussion of these issues with two experts in the field: Peter Robertson, Senior Vice President, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs for America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA); and John Rogers, Senior Analyst in the Climate and Energy Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists.

* The impacts on Massachusetts is the topic of the March 6 BBA program Fracking and Shale Gas, Part I: Impacts on Energy Markets and Massachusetts, featuring Sue Tierney, Managing Principal at Analysis Group and member of the Shale Gas Subcommittee of the U.S. Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board.
