Description: Financially troubled businesses often drift in the direction of Chapter 11 without properly considering all of their alternatives. While bankruptcy is the right solution for many issues, it is not always the optimal strategy to deal with insolvency.
This panel will explore the pros and cons of Chapter 11 and will also discuss the other options available to deal with distress, such as exchange offers, composition agreements, assignments for the benefit of creditors, and friendly foreclosure.
This discussion will be moderated by Jonathan Friedland, author of Strategic Alternatives for Distressed Businesses and Commercial Bankruptcy Litigation.
