Panel I Does a Sufficient Cyber Security Framework Exist?
In the past decade, the threat of terrorism, crime, and war to the cyber world has witnessed growing concern from both the government and the civilian community with predictions that a well planned cyber attack could prove to be extremely crippling to the nations critical infrastructure. Ultimately, the real issue is one of cyber security. Does a sufficient cyber security framework exist that can adequately protect cyberspace and the information it contains, processes, and transmits? This panel will provide a basic framework for understanding cyber security and explore the current state of preparedness from government and private industry perspectives.
Panel II Government Response Panel
Ports of entry and the transportation infrastructure have long been terrorist targets and are difficult to secure.
This panel will discuss border, port, and transportation security, how it has improved since September 11, 2001, and what is being done about it. Security about the Washington Ferry System will be highlighted. Collaboration
among local, state, and federal authorities is part of the changes to port and transportation security. We know from recent disasters that inter-agency cooperation is an important component to responding to any disaster.
This panel will also discuss how new collaborative efforts are changing the way we respond to disasters.
Panel III Insurance Protection for Cyber Liability Risks and Security Breach Disasters
Global hacking groups like LulzSec and Anonymous have demonstrated that they can break into sophisticated networks like Sonys PlayStation, Fox News and even the Pentagon. Is it only a matter of time when your network
will be attacked? How are companies managing that risk and what insurance products can help cover the damages associated with network security breaches? This roundtable discussion provides essential up to date information on the insurance issues surrounding cyber liability risks.
