This program will cover current developments in particular areas of employment law practice from the perspective of lawyers acting for either the employer or the employee. The presentation will focus on recent case law impacting on employment law and related income tax issues. In addition, the discussion will explore practical strategies and the need for an ethical and professional approach to challenging issues that arise with the breakdown of the employment relationship.

Bernie Aron, B.A., J.D., LL.M.
Program Coordinator of the Bachelor of Applied Arts degree program in Paralegal Studies at the Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. He is a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court in York Region. Bernie is contributing editor of Business Legal Advister and Tax Aspects of Litigation published by Carswell. Bernie is completing his PhD in Law at Osgoode Hall Law School.
James LeNoury, B.A., M.A., LL.B.
The law firm of James Le Noury represents a wide range of private and public sector employers and individual employees with respect to employment and labour employment and labour relations legal matters. Principal James Lenoury was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1992, and has specialized in employment and labour law since that time. In addition to providing full consultation and representation in judicial and administrative forums, Mr. Le Noury presents seminars to client groups on a variety of employment, occupation and workplace safety and insurance issues. Prior to attending law school James completed a Masters of Counselling Psychology Degree and worked as a crisis counsellor, and child and family therapist at childrens mental health centres in Ontario. James represented the Association of Local Public Health Agencies before the Walkerton Water Inquiry.
