Description:

This program will address the essential elements of what public agencies and large companies must do to prepare to meet the legal and practical issues that will arise when disaster strikes.  In addition to discussing the planning, preparation, training and allocation of resources to deal with the disaster, experts with personal experience will compare how different legal and political systems deal with losses from major disasters, such as the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Japan earthquake/nuclear crisis, catastrophic floods (Queensland, Australia), serious earthquakes (Chile, New Zealand and Haiti), major hurricanes (Katrina, Rita, Wilma) and others.
