Description: On January 21st, the U.S. Supreme Court threw out a decades-old law aimed at limiting the clout of big business and labor in elections. In a 5 to 4 vote, the Court overruled two of its own decisions to allow corporations and unions to run independent ads directly calling for the election or defeat of candidates right up to an election. Corporations have been given the green light to spend as freely as they wish to support or oppose candidates, as long as they do not coordinate with the candidates.
An engaging speaker and one of the nation’s great government affairs lawyers, Ken Gross will analyze this case and comment on its immediate and long-term effects in a 60-minute audio seminar.
