Law schools dont teach the practical principles of business that are essential to the economic success of their graduates. They tend to see law practice as a profession that is not governed by the same business principles that governs other professions. They do not speak of the law as an industry. Yet, law practice and all its supporters is a multi-BILLION dollar industry. Anyone who says different is not focused on the real world. When the profession loses thousands of lawyers (for the first time in its history) and more thousands of support staff from only the larger law firms (forgetting about the impact on small law firms and sole practitioners), the economic impact is HUGE. However, business techniques and rules still apply, and law practice is certainly not exempt.
Our session will feature interviews with recent law school graduates who will describe their current environment and how law school did or did not prepare them for their current status. Also, our moderator, nationally recognized coach and law firm management consultant, Ed Poll will discuss the top 10 principles to succeed.
