Speaker Bios
Lawrence D. Mason, Partner, Goldberg Segalla
Mason is a C-Suite advisor to a diverse array of international businesses providing business counseling, risk management, and trial and appellate litigation solutions. His complex commercial litigation experience includes a concentration in insurance and reinsurance coverage, product liability, contract, environmental, toxic tort, construction, cyber liability, and professional liability issues. In addition to his trial and appellate work, Mason is retained as an expert witness, mediator, arbitrator and appraiser. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, New York, Wisconsin, the U.S. Supreme Court, various federal district courts and courts of appeals, and on a pro hac vice basis in various state court jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Sebastian Alia, Underwriting Counsel, Validus Underwriters
Sebastian Alia, Esq. is Underwriting Counsel for Validus Specialty, where he spearheads all product development and manuscript endorsements across all professional liability lines, customizing insurance solutions for the often unique business models encountered in their target markets. Sebastian recently completed development of a Fin Tech-targeted package policy designed to address the unique exposures of this rapidly growing segment of financial services companies utilizing a technology-focused service delivery platform. Prior to joining Validus, Sebastian has served the insurance industry in other roles, including handling coverage litigation, managing a team of claim handlers, and underwriting. After receiving his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University, Sebastian began his legal career as a litigator and appellate attorney with a diverse practice spanning Constitutional Law, Contract Law, Civil Rights, Product Liability, and Commercial Litigation.
Anthony Tessitore, Senior Counsel, Clyde & Co
Tessitore's practice focuses on the litigation of complex civil matters including a wide array of insurance defense and coverage disputes. He has represented various domestic and foreign insurers in both litigated and non-litigated matters and has appeared in both State and Federal Courts on behalf of his clients. Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Anthony was a partner at a highly regarded international firm. His practice includes advising and representing clients across various business lines including with respect to: complex general liability matters, technology, privacy and media related risks, environmental, toxic tort & health hazard claims, errors & omissions claims, professional liability and malpractice matters, first party property matters, cyber insurance risks, employment practices liability, and intellectual property/coverage B claims. Education: J.D., Brooklyn Law School; B.A., Lafayette College.
