Through this partnership, the Fund has raised the profile of sexual harassment in the media and helped the individuals who are coming forward. Hear from attorneys about the work of the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund in its first two years, and from media experts and attorneys who have obtained media assistance through the TIME'S UP Legal Defense Fund about the best ways to use media to help your client and your case.

Kendra Barkoff Lamy, Senior Vice President, SKDKnickerbocker
Kendra Barkoff Lamy has worked at the highest levels of government and is an expert in crisis communications, bringing a decade of experience to the intersection of public policy, media and politics on behalf of our corporate and nonprofit clients.
At SKDKnickerbocker, Lamy specializes in helping victims of sexual harassment and assault. She leads the team that works on the groundbreaking TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund initiatives and works with individual women who come forward and want to share their stories on their own terms. In 2019, she was named one of the Top Women in PR by PR News.
Lamy joined SKDKnickerbocker from the Office of Vice President Joe Biden, where she served as Press Secretary for four and a half years. During her time with Vice President Biden, Lamy was the primary on-the-record spokesperson, leading the office’s rapid-response operation and managing communications strategy. In addition, she helped to develop and launch the 1is2many and the ItsOnUs initiatives, two administration campaigns aimed at changing the cultural norms around domestic violence, dating abuse and sexual harassment.
Prior to her job in the White House, Lamy was the Deputy Communications Director and Press Secretary at the U.S. Department of Interior. Among her many responsibilities, Lamy led the rapid response operation for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. She also helped manage the communications activities around myriad complex conservation and environment issues within the department’s portfolio.
Prior to her work in the Obama Administration, Lamy was Sen. Bob Casey’s Press Secretary and also served as a communications aide for Sen. Dick Durbin.
Esha Rajendran, Attorney, Ellwanger Law
Esha Rajendran is a graduate of Duke University School of Law. She entered law school wanting to use her skills and knowledge to serve others and is thrilled that she now advocates for clients’ civil rights. As a law student, she interned with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor. She was also an active member of Duke’s Public Interest Law Foundation and the Senior Executive Editor of the Duke Forum for Law and Social Change. Before law school, she majored in Human and Organizational Development at Vanderbilt University. As an undergraduate, she interned with the Nashville Mayor’s Office, worked with a human trafficking nonprofit, and volunteered as a Young Life leader.
Sharyn Tejani, Director, TIME'S UP Legal Defense Fund, National Women's Law Center
Sharyn Tejani is the Director of the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund. Immediately prior to starting this role in April 2018, she served as a Deputy Chief at the Employment Litigation Section of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. In that role, she supervised the investigation and litigation of cases on behalf of workers facing sex harassment, pregnancy discrimination, and employment barriers that unjustly screen out women and people of color.
Tejani has spent her legal career working on issues of civil rights and women’s rights. Prior to joining the U.S. Department of Justice in 2010, Tejani was the Director of the Workplace Fairness Program at the National Partnership for Women and Families and the Legal Director of the Feminist Majority Foundation. She also worked at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as an Attorney Advisor to Commissioner Stuart J. Ishimaru. Tejani began her legal career as an honors attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. She attended Yale University and Georgetown University Law Center.
